About Scan to PDF
You don't need a scanner or a separate app to turn paper into a PDF. This tool lets you scan to PDF with your phone camera for free, right in the browser. Take a photo of each page, and the tool finds the page, straightens it, corrects the angle and evens out the lighting. Then it saves every page into one PDF.
You can pick a look for your pages, such as Enhanced, Grayscale, Black & white or Original, and choose a page size. There is also an option to make the text searchable with OCR, in languages such as English, Hindi, Arabic and Tamil. Your photos are processed on your device and never uploaded.
It suits anyone with paper to send in a hurry. Say a renter needs to email a signed form to a letting agent. He opens the page on his phone, taps Take photo for each sheet, checks the corners and taps Save as PDF. He ends up with one clean file, ready to attach.
How to use Scan to PDF
- Open the page and tap Take photo, or click Choose files to add photos you already have. Use Add page for more pages.
- Check the corners. Pages are found automatically. Drag a corner, tap Detect page again, or use the rotate buttons if needed. Choose Whole photo to keep the full image.
- Pick a Look (Enhanced, Grayscale, Black & white or Original) and a Page size (A4, Letter or Fit to page). You can also set the Margin to None or Small.
- To make the text searchable, tick Make text searchable (OCR) and choose the Text language.
- Tap Save as PDF to get every page in one file. Use Start again for a new scan.

Scan to PDF: questions people ask
Do I need to install an app?
No. It runs in your phone browser, such as Chrome or Safari.
What if the page edges are wrong?
Drag the corner handles to the corners of the page, or tap Detect page again.
Can the PDF be searchable?
Yes. Tick Make text searchable (OCR) and choose the text language before you save. The text is recognised from a photo, so check it if the wording matters, and don't expect the original fonts.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and your photos stay on your device.
