Is the Image Editor free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Every tool, including the AI ones, is free.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photo is edited inside your browser and never leaves your device. The AI tools (erase objects, remove background, sharpen faces) download their model once from Hugging Face, a public AI model library, with Omebly as the backup, and then run on your device. That download never includes your photo.
Which files can I open?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC (iPhone photos), GIF (first frame), BMP and TIFF, up to 100 MB and 50 megapixels. You can save as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.
How do I remove an object or a person from a photo?
Open Touch-up, choose Erase object, paint over what should go (or press Find object and click it) and press Erase. The gap is filled with what should be behind it.
Can I make a photo the right size for Instagram, WhatsApp or YouTube?
Yes. In Crop, the Social tab sets the exact size for Instagram posts and stories, WhatsApp profile pictures, YouTube thumbnails, Facebook and LinkedIn covers and more.
Is my location removed when I save?
Yes, by default. The save window removes photo data such as location, camera and date. You can keep it when saving as JPG.
Can I edit many photos at once?
Yes. Batch resizes, converts, compresses, applies a look or adds a watermark to up to 100 photos and gives you one ZIP.
What happens if I close the tab?
Your work is saved in this browser as you edit. Open the Image Editor again and press Continue to carry on where you left off.
