Download for Windows Version 0.3.3 · 59 MB · Windows 10 and 11 · Free and open source
  • 16 parts at once
  • Qualities and audio languages
  • Pause and resume
  • No ads, no tracking

You are responsible for what you download. Save only what you own, what is free to save, or what you have permission to save. Videos locked with copy protection are never downloaded.

Set it up once, in three steps

  1. Install the app. Open the file you downloaded, read and tick the agreement, and click Install. It installs for you only and needs no admin rights.
  2. Add the extension. When the app opens for the first time, a short guide shows you how, with Copy buttons for the two things to paste: open chrome://extensions (it also works in Edge and Brave), turn on Developer mode, click "Load unpacked" and paste the folder the guide gives you. The guide turns green when it is connected.
  3. Pin it and go. Pin the green Omebly button to the toolbar. On any page, click it, tick what you want and press Download.

The whole page at once

Every video, audio file, picture and file is listed with a checkbox, so a whole course or playlist downloads in one click, in order.

Quality and language

Choose 360p up to 4K, or audio only. Videos with several audio languages keep them as tracks you can switch.

Fast and steady

Files download in up to 16 parts at once. Pause any time; downloads carry on after the internet drops.

Updates in one click

Signed updates for the app and the extension together, so YouTube and other sites keep working.

Only want the browser extension?

You can add the extension without the app. It then finds everything on a page and saves direct files through your browser. YouTube, streamed videos, 16-part speed, pause and resume need the Windows app, and only the app keeps the extension updated, so the app is the better choice for most people.

  1. Download the ZIP and unzip it into a folder you will keep.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (also Edge and Brave) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click "Load unpacked", choose the unzipped folder, and pin the green Omebly button.
Extension only (ZIP)

Your privacy

Omebly Downloader keeps your downloads, history and settings on your computer. It never asks for a password: it uses the browser you are already signed in to, and only sends a site's sign-in to that same site while downloading from it. The only request to Omebly is the update check, and it carries nothing about you. The code is open source (GPL-3.0), so anyone can check this.

FAQ

Omebly Downloader: questions people ask

Is Omebly Downloader free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no limits and no ads. It is open source under the GPL-3.0 licence, so anyone can read the code.

What can it download?

Videos, audio, pictures and files (PDF, ZIP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) on the page you are on. It also reads YouTube and more than a thousand other video sites, with their qualities from 360p to 4K and their audio languages.

Does it download videos with copy protection?

No. Videos locked with DRM (such as on Netflix-style services and many paid course platforms) are shown as "Protected" and never downloaded. You are responsible for what you download: save only what you own, what is free to save, or what you have permission to save.

Which browsers work?

Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Brave on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The extension comes with the app and is added once, in three short steps.

How is it so fast?

Each file is split into up to 16 parts that download at the same time, and the parts of a video stream are fetched many at a time. If the internet drops, the download carries on from where it stopped.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. Your downloads, history and settings stay on your computer. The only thing the app asks omebly.com is whether there is a newer version, and that check carries nothing about you. Sign-ins stay in your browser; the app never asks for a password.

How do updates work?

When a new version is ready, the app shows "Update now". One click downloads it, checks its signature so only real Omebly updates install, and restarts the app. The browser extension updates itself from the same update.

Why might Windows show a message when I install it?

Windows SmartScreen can show a "Windows protected your PC" note for apps that are new and not yet downloaded by many people. If you see it, click "More info" and then "Run anyway". It goes away as more people use the app.

Your download has started

Open the file when it finishes and follow the three steps on this page. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
